CDMA-based On-wrist PCS Watchphone

The Dick Tracy fantasy watchphone is now a reality! New from Samsung Electronics is a CDMA technology-based combined mobile telephone and watch to be worn on the wrist. The new model, weighing 39 grams (excepting battery) and measuring 67 millimeters in length, 58 millimeters in width and 20 millimeters in depth, features an ultra mini-sized baseband chip and duplexer. In consideration of its dimensions, the number of parts in the watchphone has been minimized.

It uses a single speaker and does without a keypad; dialling is achieved by slide keys. In the same manner various menus are accessed. Being wrist-borne, the watchphone is far more portable than existing wireless phones and the risk of theft or loss is less. The watchphone can be worn while playing sports, and is a great way to be able to keep in touch while enjoying the great outdoors.

Incombustible Floor Material

LG Prime is a new, completely incombustible floor material from LG Chemical which will bear no trace  of burning even after thinner has been ignited on its surface or subjected to a lighted cigarette. It also has excellent scratch-resistant properties. It was developed using the technology under which thermosetting resin, and thermoplastic resin, polyvinyl chloride (PVC)  are combined. Previously, when thermosetting resin and thermoplastic resin were coupled, installation problems arose due to their different contractibility. However,  LG Prime represents the solution of this problem by  LG researchers.
Because of its high fire and impact resistance plus superb sound absorbtion properties, the new material is ideal for use in hotels, department stores, hospitals and restaurants and other heavy traffic areas. LG has patents pending for the material in the United States, Japan and China, and is currently negotiating commercial tie-ups i

Concave Reflex System (CRS) Microwave Oven

Daewoo Electronics has recently launched a new energy-saving Concave Reflex System (CRS) microwave oven which offers the most advanced technical features - a high frequency structure simulator and spherical       concave reflectors located on the left hand and back sides - aimed at cooking food evenly and quickly. The concave reflectors, which concentrate the waves equally on all  areas of the food item, act in tandem with the dual wave system which distributes microwaves evenly into the oven cavity from two points, one above the item and the other below. This new technology minimizes the dead spaces microwaves in traditional ovens don't reach, resulting in discrepancies in the temperature of each cooking area. It also has applications in commercial cooking and rubber processing in tire manufacture.
