KOREA TECHNOMART 2000

The Korea Technomart is Asia's premier technology exhibition, an outstanding opportunity for exhibitors to engage with those Korean companies seeking to outsource advanced technologies. Held under the theme, "The High-tech Venture Opportunity for the New Millennium," Korea Technomart 2000 will enable high-tech firms to capitalize on business opportunities through the transfer of technology.

To be held at the Seoul Trade Exhibition Center (SETEC) Nov. 7th to 9th, Korea Technomart 2000 will be essentially a forum for technology related businesses to develop business contacts for possible technology transactions and/or joint ventures. A prime feature of the event will be a series of meetings between over 150 foreign exhibitors ("Technology vendors") and some 1,000 visiting Korean corporate representatives ("Technology buyers"). The exhibition will consist mainly of sample products, drawings , process flow diagrams, photographs, motion pictures or product catalogues to provide an effective means of presenting information on exhibitors' technologies.  SIGIFT 2000

The Seoul International Gift & Fashion Accessories Show to run at the COEX Nov. 5th to 8th will be the 16th of the series, making it one of the longest- running events of its kind anywhere in the world. SIGIFT is scheduled to coincide this year with SISFAIR, also being held at the COEX, in order to cross-generate synergy through the proximity of the two events. As the title implies, SIGIFT 2000 will feature all types of items in the gift/fashion accessories category, and will showcase a variety of different companies and products. The exhibits will include, but are not necessarily limited to cards, ceramics, promotional gifts, home accessories, leisure goods, sporting goods, clothing accessories, cosmetics, jewelry, watches, handbags, and much, much more.

 KOFURN 2000

The International Furniture & Woodworking Machinery Fair Seoul 2000 to be held Oct. 31st to Nov. 5th at the COEX will provide an international showcase for the Korean furniture industry and an ideal forum for business networking and exchanging trade information. KOFURN 2000 also aims to promote innovation and quality within the industry. The event will highlight furniture, the woodworking machinery used in its manufacture, and other industry related products.

 KES 2000

Held under the theme, "It's a Digital World," the Korea Electronics Show 2000 to be held Oct. 2nd to 6th at the Convention & Exhibition Center (COEX) has three major aims. It is designed primarily to foster a high-tech electronics/information industrial base in Korea to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

It is also intended to contribute to the development of the national economy via the expansion of the electronics industry; and expand new product development through the exchange of the latest technology and market information. KES 1999 attracted over 160,000 visitors and 400 exhibitors, half of whom were foreign.

Major exhibits at last year's show included next- generation digital audio/visual equipment, such as digital TVs, MP3 players, camcorders, PDP TV, TMA ( Thin-film Mirror Array Actuated), DVD players and digital cameras. Advanced information and communication equipment on display included wireless LAN cards, Internet kiosk equipment, web videophones, IMT-2000 terminals, and digital SVRs.  SIEF 2000

This year's Seoul International Electric Fair (SIEF) represents the best venue for international industry players to assess and capitalize on the major developments now taking place with the Korean market. Between 1994 and 1999, the Korean electrical machinery market grew at an annual average rate of 12.5 percent to $14 billion. Korean imports of heavy electric machinery increased by 12.9 by last year to $3 billion. Large-scale construction projects will accelerate the already growing demand for heavy electric machinery, creating opportunities for business both in Korea and abroad. In response, Korea's electrical machinery industry is now concentrating on forming joint ventures and technical tie-ups with foreign trading partners. This new focus has encouraged an atmosphere of international cooperation, and SIEF 2000 will be an excellent venue where it is possible to meet top industry professionals, government representatives, buyers, and suppliers. SIEF 2000, slated to run at the Seoul Trade Exhibition Center (SETEC) Nov. 14th to 17th, is an opportunity to network with regional specialists that should not be missed.

 SIEMSTA 2000

Held to promote the mechanization of agricultural processes and modernize facilities and equipment both in Korea and around the world, the Seoul International Exhibition of Machinery, Science, and Technology for Agriculture 2000 (SIEMSTA) will this year attract over 400 exhibitors hailing from 25 different countries. Consisting of 27,000 square meters of exhibition space showcasing agricultural machinery and materials, orchard/horticultural materials, agricultural products, livestock machinery, among others, this year's SIEMSTA is the largest in the series since it was first held in 1992. SIEMSTA 2000 will run at the COEX Nov. 13th to 18th.

 SISFAIR 2000

The 14th annual Seoul International Stationery Fair to be held Nov. 5th to 8th at the COEX will feature over 8,000 square meters of writing instruments, paper products, organizers, stationery, office machines, art materials, and the like. Korea's massive volume of trade in stationery has flagged the country as a vital market for all involved in the export and import of this merchandise. SISFAIR 2000 will provide a superb opportunity to all exhibitors wanting to enter Korea's booming stationery market, meet buyers worldwide and gain valuable insights into the latest developments in the business and the technology that underlies it.
