InBody 3.0 is an innovative body composition analysis system designed to produce accurate and reproducible measurement data for use in obesity treatment, nutritional consultation and exercise preparation. To diagnose obesity, InBody measures muscle and fat mass. The accurate data it produces enables comparisons in body compositional changes following obesity treatment, information that is crucial for obesity clinics to measure the progress of their patients. Moreover, by calculating the waist/hip ratio it assesses abdominal obesity, which is related to geriatric diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and stroke.
The system also provides an evaluation of a patient¡¯s nutritional status. It analyses and assesses the four components of the human body: body fluid, protein, fat and minerals. It also estimates the patient¡¯s muscle type, i.e., whether it is sarcopenic, proportionate, or muscular. InBody interfaces with its software, Lookin¡¯Body, which allows a patient to devise a weight control program based on diet and calorie usage. The weight control program provides a personalized menu and activity plan to scientifically control obesity until the targeted weight is reached.
InBody has been chosen by major university hospitals and sports clinics in over 20 countries including Britain, Germany, Japan and China. InBody is the body analysis system of choice for Tipness, Japan¡¯s most popular fitness center franchise.

High-tech products that were once thought of as belonging to the realm of science fiction are becoming reality. A typical example is MIRH Eye Surveillance, Dream MIRH¡¯s latest surveillance system.
The MIRH Eye Surveillance system is capable of detecting certain individuals via face recognition in openspaced areas such as airports, train stations, docks and building lobbies. Dream MIRH expects its new system to become the vanguard in the fight against terrorism and crime. The system consists of individual CCD cameras networked to a central server. The central server operates via innovative and easy-to-use software.
When a specific individual is successfully detected as demanded by the system manager, the user is notified by a buzzer, alarm, or by monitor color change. At the same time, it also displays a list of up to 10 similar faces for the purpose of a final validation. After manually confirming the detected individual, personal information regarding the person is displayed.
MIRH Eye Surveillance system also has applications in tightly secured areas such as laboratories and military facilities. By detecting unidentified persons not listed in the database of the central server, the system is able to alert security staff to unwanted visitors.

Diabetes is a disease characterized by unusually high blood sugar levels and metabolic disorders. The main cause of the disease is insufficient amounts or ineffectiv eness of insulin, a type of hormone produced by the pancreas. To better combat diabetes, Sooil Co., Ltd. has developed a portable insulin pump, the Dana Diabecare II. The insulin pump performs the same role as the pancreas by regularly supplying appropriate amounts of insulin in order to maintain normal blood sugar levels.
The Sooil insulin pump is the fourth of its kind, internationally, to gain the approval of the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for usage and sale. However, it is considered to be far superior to other insulin pumps that have gained USFDA approval. The Diabecare weighs a mere 60 grams, some 40 percent lighter than competing products. It is fully waterproof, allowing the user to swim or shower with the pump fastened to the body. Furthermore, the Sooil insulin pump is priced far more attractively than its leading competitors, and is approximately one-third of their sizes.

Corporate computer systems require ever-speedier processing of transactions. Existing system limitations, however, often pose difficulties to managers in this regard. Altibase, which supplies solutions for real-time data processing and large-scale user access, thus offers an innovative, next-generation main memory DBMS that enhances performance to a higher level.
So far, memory-optimized databases have been limited to the maximum amount of memory available. With the release of 64-bit CPUs and corresponding operating systems, size restrictions that have constrained memory-resident data stores have been removed and DRAM costs have since plummeted.
The new system can be applied to a wide variety of fields. Against such a backdrop, the Altibase main memory DBMS is opening a new horizon in the field of information service. The main memory DBMS can manage an entire database memory or a portion thereof. It supports conventional disk-based DBMS functionality and provides faster information processing. With applications in the four areas of communications, Internet applications, financial and real-time applications, the Altibase MMDBMS thus represents a new system architecture that sets it apart from disk-based DBMS.
